Premium Pavilion Tour

Delve into the exquisite details of the newly restored 1826 Pell Pavilion, enjoying the treasured family tales within each room and each amazing object on display. This entertaining 60-minute tour examines the evolution of this National Historic Landmark, from summer home to hotel, its renovation in 1909, and its most recent complete restoration. Explore incredible examples of the museum’s decorative arts collection and archaeological artifacts recovered from the Pavilion on exhibit for the very first time. NEW! A Guided Tour of Fort Ticonderoga’s Liberty Hill
Battlefield Tours offered select Wednesdays at 3:00pm through August 12th, 2026.
In July 1776, Continental soldiers began digging in at Ticonderoga as they prepared to stem a British counterattack. On the Heights of Carillon, a brigade of Pennsylvanians set up camp on the site of the bloodiest battle of the 18th century. Reinforcing the “old French lines” Americans believed history might repeat itself as they prepared for another British attack. Renaming the position “Liberty Hill,” the Continentals transformed the area, strengthening the fortifications and establishing a dense hut camp. Join Fort Ticonderoga’s curator to walk this hallowed ground today and see what remains of those American positions. The tour is informed by new research and recent archaeological work that is revealing fresh details about this pivotal part of Fort Ticonderoga’s landscape.

Step beyond the galleries for a rare, Curator-led experience at Fort Ticonderoga’s Thompson-Pell Research Center. Come face-to-face with original artifacts from this critical year of the Revolutionary War. Explore the dramatic moments and larger-than-life personalities connected to Ticonderoga, including Benedict Arnold, Horatio Gates, and Anthony Wayne. This behind-the-scenes tour brings the decisions, tensions, and turning points of the war to life through the actual objects and documents that were there 250 years ago.
New for 2026, this program takes place at the Thompson-Pell Research Center about a mile from the main historic site of Fort Ticonderoga!

Learn how historians can read these pieces and discover what they have to tell us about military history, technology, art, and more.
