“We are thrilled to host this popular cultural event,” said Beth L. Hill, Fort Ticonderoga President and CEO. “Fort Ticonderoga has an enduring connection with Scottish history and culture. The Black Watch, or 42nd Highland Regiment, sealed their reputation at Ticonderoga during the Battle of Carillon on July 8, 1758. The regiment suffered more than 50% casualties during their assault on the right of the French Lines as part of the British attack. Ticonderoga has remained a legendary battle honor within the regiment’s history.”
