Planned Giving

The Fort Ticonderoga Legacy Society

A Planned Giving gift to Fort Ticonderoga is a pledge for posterity.

The Fort Ticonderoga Legacy Society recognizes our special supporters who have notified Fort Ticonderoga of their intention to make a planned gift. Bequests to Fort Ticonderoga are fully tax-deductible. A charitable bequest is as simple as specifying in your trust, will, or codicil the dollar amount or percentage of your net residuary estate you wish to bequeath to Fort Ticonderoga. You also can fund a bequest by designating Fort Ticonderoga as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, such as an IRA or 401(k) plan, or your fully paid life insurance policy. Life income gifts enable you, your spouse, or your beneficiary to continue to derive income from your gift assets. Charitable trusts are extremely flexible tax-wise and can reduce your exposure to income tax, capital gains tax, and estate settlement costs.

You are under no obligation to notify Fort Ticonderoga of your estate plan, and you may instruct that your planned gift be made anonymously. However, if you already have made a legacy gift to Fort Ticonderoga or are considering doing so, we invite you to contact the Development Office at (518) 585-2821.

You should always consult with your financial advisor for any specific questions.
