Fort Ticonderoga Hosts 31st Annual Ticonderoga Ball on March 21, 2025 at The Union League Club in New York City

“The Ticonderoga Award for a Continental Vision” to be Presented to Rick Atkinson, Pulitzer Prize-Winning Author

Fort Ticonderoga will host the 31st Annual Ticonderoga Ball at the elegant Union League Club in New York City on March 21, 2025. As Fort Ticonderoga’s largest fundraising event of the year, the Ticonderoga Ball provides vital funding for mission-focused education and preservation, with an opportunity to thank supporters, celebrate organizational victories, honor service and contributions to historical literacy, and raise a glass to North America’s military history and cultural heritage during the long 18th century.

The 2025 Ticonderoga Ball will be monumental in the event’s 30-year legacy of fundraising, friendship, and passionate support for historical literacy. With a nod to the May 10, 1775 capture of Fort Ticonderoga, this energetic gala will usher in the 250th anniversary of America’s First Victory and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to celebrate the founding of our nation.

“The 31st Annual Ticonderoga Ball will celebrate America’s First Victory, an early and transformative action of the American Revolution at Fort Ticonderoga in 1775,” said Beth L. Hill, Fort Ticonderoga President & CEO. “It is the perfect time to recognize the contributions and achievements of author and historian Rick Atkinson. With impeccable research and timing, Rick’s work on his Revolution Trilogy of books is igniting interest and creating a deeper understanding of our nation’s earliest and sometimes uncertain days. He shares a passion with Fort Ticonderoga for bringing to light the triumphs, as well as the tragedies, that carried us through the Revolution and brought us to this moment.”

The Ticonderoga Award for a Continental Vision: In 1776, soldiers from across the young United States joined together to defend Ticonderoga. Those soldiers of the Continental Army served a cause that was greater than their individual towns, cities, and states. Their continental vision was not just an acknowledgment of the past, but a path for the future. Ticonderoga seeks to recognize this same sensitivity in the present, by honoring those who respect our past, connect it to the present, and show a broad vision for our future.
